Our preschool program is designed around our Skill Building Blocks. These are the fundamental learning experiences for preschoolers. It is our desire to develop these skills through a program of Play Based Experiential Learning which includes music, finger plays, crafts, games, and learning centers. Our two year rotation of experiences will support your child as they continue to develop their skills. We believe children learn best through experience within community, and it is our goal to accomplish this by creating an environment where preschoolers feel welcome, accepted and safe. We encourage you to make arrangements with the teacher to discuss your child’s progress at any time.
A typical preschool day will include:
- Welcome and Table Time
- Circle Time: stories, games and songs
- Center Time: learning centers, crafts and free play
- Snack Time and Recreation Time
Approximately once per quarter, we will venture off-site to experience the world around us. Whether it’s a trip to Pooh Corner at the library, a visit to the Children’s Museum or a tour of a garden nursery or petting zoo – preschoolers will enjoy the adventure!
A one-time Field Trip Fee will be collected at the start of the year and will cover field trip expenses including admission and bus rental.
We follow the Saskatoon Public School calendar; as such Christmas, Easter, statutory holidays, as well as school breaks and professional development days will be observed. All classes run from September to May.
